During the Cold War there were about 47 varieties of genetically pure cigar tobacco that was lost. With Cuba being embargoed by the US, they allied with the Soviet Union. The Soviets had more interest in sugar than tobacco. Cuba abandoned research facilities and seeds for tobacco and stepped up their growing efforts for sugar cane.
In comes Fundacion Ancestral made by Tobacos de la Cordillera Ltd of Costa Rica. The cigar is made from 100% pure cuban seed. The number 1942 signifies the year in which the tobacco was developed by Cuban Researchers.
This Cigar as a whole, has been long gone and will most likely never make a re-emergeance. We got hold of the last of what seemingly exists out of this specific blend (1942) and we are proud to offer it to our customers now.
An enchanting experience of aged tobacco that time did it so right. You can actually taste the age on the cold draw. You light the cigar and your palate is covered with that same aged flavor, which slowly disappear and gets replaced with come floral notes, gentle spice, hint of cocoa and a leathery undertone. The retrohale is super smooth and tremedously adds to the entire smoking profile.
For a limited time and while supplies last, we offer this Cigar in 2 packades:
1 Box or a sampler of 5 cigars: 2 Robusto, 2 Torpedo and 1 Churchill (Sampler will have a reduced price).
We recommend trying the sample first (as always) to test the cigar before you commit to a box.
